Welcome!!!!!

Welcome to HANTA YO, my first foray into the blogging world. You may wonder: WHAT IS HANTA YO AND/OR WHAT DOES IT MEAN? The phrase comes from the Lakota Sioux tribe which means "CLEAR THE WAY." The legend of the phrase began in the 1980s at Lawton High School in Lawton, OK as a motivational tool for the football team, which then grew to national status when ex-Lawton HS quarterback Charles Thompson (yes, the same man on the SI cover wearing an orange prison jumpsuit) led my beloved OU Sooners to upset win over Nebraska in 1987. Once again, welcome and I hope you enjoy the site!

Actually Hanta Yo means "move it" or "Scram" It has no spiritual meaning and it is usually said to children when they are "in the way"

Just though you would like to know
